This is a synthetic blue spinel cut in the same pattern that Jerry developed a couple of years ago called "Queen's Last Resort" for a special Montana sapphire. It is a rather complex cushion rectangle with 79 facets. The original test cut spinel was sold but because of interest expressed about the design and the material, Jerry cut another one.
Recognize the intrinsic value of a synthetic stone may not be great; it's true value is really about the art of the design and it's execution. This one speaks for itself. The photo doesn't do it justice. It is really a very nice aqua color with lots of brilliance.
